About
Nexstar is the largest television station owner-operator in the United States, operating over 200 broadcast stations across 116 markets reaching 220 million people, with 155 affiliates among the four major networks (CBS, Fox, NBC, ABC). The company also owns NewsNation cable network, controls 75% of the CW network, and holds a 31% stake in Food Network and Cooking Channel. A pending merger with Tegna would expand Nexstar's footprint to 259 stations in 133 markets, providing coverage to 80% of the U.S. population and further strengthening its position as the dominant player in local broadcast television and digital media.
