About
BHP is a global diversified mining company with major exposure to iron ore and copper through flagship assets including the Pilbara iron ore mine and Escondida copper mine. The company has recently strengthened its copper portfolio through the acquisition of Oz Minerals in 2023 and investment in the Vicuna copper joint venture in 2025, while developing the Jansen potash project in Canada. BHP completed its transition away from upstream petroleum through a 2022 merger with Woodside and suspended nickel operations in 2024 due to unfavorable commodity prices.
