Diageo is the world's largest distilled spirits manufacturer, formed in 1997 through the merger of Grand Metropolitan and Guinness. Its portfolio includes iconic brands like Captain Morgan rum and Crown Royal Canadian whisky, acquired through the 2001 Seagram purchase. Since then, the company has pursued strategic bolt-on acquisitions to expand its product and geographic reach.
