About CarMax Inc.

CarMax is the largest used-vehicle retailer in the United States, operating over 250 retail stores nationwide. The company generates revenue primarily from vehicle sales (83%), complemented by wholesale operations (17%) and ancillary services including extended service plans and repair. In fiscal 2025, CarMax retailed 789,050 used vehicles and wholesaled 544,312 units. Despite its market leadership position, the company holds approximately 3.7% share of the 0-10 year old vehicle market and is pursuing expansion toward 5% market penetration.
