About The Southern Company 2025 Series A Corporate Units

Southern Company is a major US utility serving approximately 9 million customers through vertically integrated electric and natural gas operations across seven states, primarily in the Southeast. The company operates 44 gigawatts of rate-regulated generating capacity and owns subsidiary Southern Power, which manages 13 gigawatts of natural gas and renewable generation sold under long-term contracts. This structure combines stable regulated utility earnings with higher-margin contracted power generation.
